A+ A- A

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am taking the liberty of writing to you to let you know that the Program of the tenth Session of the International Academy for Arbitration Law (“Arbitration Academy”), which will run from July 6, 2020 through July 24, 2020, has been released recently. The Arbitration Academy was launched in July 2011 in response to the increasing demand for specialized teaching in International Arbitration. It offers a three-week Summer Course to students and young practitioners interested in the field, covering both International Commercial Arbitration and International Investment Arbitration. The Summer Courses are given in Paris the first three weeks of July each year, and are offered in English. They include a 10-hour General Course (alternating each year between commercial and investment arbitration), 30-hour Special Courses, Workshops and Seminars on Institutional Arbitration, as well as two Lectures open to the public, the Academy’s Inaugural Lecture and The Berthold Goldman Lecture on Historic Arbitration stories. Now entering into its tenth year, the Arbitration Academy has become an acclaimed success by offering courses taught by a world renowned faculty to participants ranging from Law students to Government Officials representing over 70 countries. The 2020 session will include an Inaugural Lecture given by Maxi Scherer and the Berthold Goldman Lecture on Historic Arbitration Stories that will be delivered by Professor Bernard Hanotiau. Alongside the General Course held by Professor George Bermann, Special Courses will be taught by Professors Laurent Aynès, Cecilia Azar Manzur, Sylvain Bollée and Gaston Kenfack Douajni, as well as Aisha Nadar and Jean François Tossens. The 2020 Seminars will be offered by ICSID (Jara Minguez Almeida), the ICC (Alexander Fessas & Ana Serra e Moura) and the SIAC (Kevin Nash & Qian Wu). Two other Seminars will be delivered, one on Quantum by FTI (Andrew Flower), the other on the UNCITRAL Secretariat Guide on the New York Convention (Benjamin Siino). I would be particularly grateful if you could bring this Program to the attention of the members of your Institute. Should they be interested in attending, I am pleased to inform you that the Arbitration Academy online application for 2020 admissions is now available through the Arbitration Academy’s website: Applicants will be notified of the decision regarding their application by April 30, 2020. Yours Faithfully, Daniel Cohen Daniel Cohen President International Academy for Arbitration Law
