C2 Montréal generates more than $105 M in economic benefits in 2014

Business Development Bank of Canada signs on as partner of 2015 edition.

A recent report showed that the 2014 edition of C2 Montréal generated $105.6 M in economic benefits, including $97.7 M directly in the province of Quebec. The results also revealed a considerable impact for participants, with one company out of four (23%) closing a deal at the event. In addition, C2 Montréal supported some 1,033 full-time equivalent jobs in Quebec which represented a $69 M contribution to Quebec’s GDP. PricewaterhouseCoopers conducted the economic analysis.

« By generating over $100 M in economic benefits for Quebec, C2 Montréal plays a key role in the creation of wealth and lasting economic development for the province, » said Richard St-Pierre, President of C2 Montréal. « Since its first edition in 2012, C2 Montréal has continually reinvented itself and has grown stronger every year. The 2015 edition will be a great opportunity for the event to continue to grow, while generating even more benefits. »

C2 Montréal also announced that the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) has signed on as a key partner for its fourth edition, which will be held from May 26 to 28.

« This report demonstrates that C2 Montréal is a leading economic engine, » stated Jean-René Halde, President and CEO of BDC. « That’s why BDC, as a development bank, has chosen this year to associate with the event, designed to further bolster the visibility of Canadian and Quebec small and medium-sized enterprises on the world economic stage. »

This coming May, some 4,000 participants representing a wide variety of industries will gather at Arsenal in Griffintown to get inspired by world-renowned speakers, participate in hands-on, collaborative workshops, experiment in creative labs and experience exclusive creative happenings, music events and artistic performances.
