CGI receives Value Creation Award at 2018 Canadian Dealmakers Award Gala

CGI (TSX: GIB.A) (NYSE: GIB) received a 2018 Value Creation Award from the Canadian Dealmakers during its annual awards gala last evening in Toronto. As the only award program of its kind in Canada, Canadian Dealmakers recognizes both Canadian companies and individuals for their significant contributions to the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) market. Awards are given to recipients whose transactions have significantly impacted their industry by promoting innovation and growth, establishing M&A best practices, enhancing customer service and/or product delivery, and creating value that extends beyond a return on investment.

The Value Creation Award recognizes a Canadian headquartered company that has demonstrated significant value creation through an acquisition completed in the last five years. From fiscal 2013 to 2018, CGI’s stock price appreciated by more than 180% or 24% growth per year over the period.

« We are honoured to receive this prestigious award, » said François Boulanger, Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer. « CGI is committed to driving value for all of our stakeholders—our professionals, clients and shareholders—through a ‘Build and Buy’ strategy focused on both organic growth and acquisitions. On the buy side, our approach to M&A is fully integrated with our operations and aligned on three key criteria — to acquire the right company at the right time and for the right price. This approach, which has served us well for more than four decades, ensures every acquisition delivers the highest value possible for all our stakeholders, and we look forward to continued success as we expand our global presence and scale in 2018 and beyond. »

CGI has previoiusly received two Canadian Dealmakers Awards for its 2012 acquisition of Logica.
